| Roadworks and road closures |
| I went to ventnor today put the destination in my satnav got there ok via Godshill niton and Whitwell so thought that's not too bad with a few roadworks and road closures I did do well. Coming g back wasza different story it took me via black gang and I somehow turned off on one of the road which was a dead end. So before turning round I put yarmouth in the location and it took me via the military road.wasnt too sure of the route but once I got to afton road I knew where I was. Real good fun |

| Isle of wight festival |
| It's nearly finished. Everyone will be going home tommorrow some may even go home today. The roads will be a nightmare tommorrow with everyone trying to leave. I went past the festival site yesterday and it was very very busy. The traffic wasn't too bad just don't like the diversions they confuse me. I will try and avoid newport tommorrow until 3pm. |

| Lovely day today |
It's another lovely day on the isle of wight with the isle of wight festival in full swing. I went into Newport on Wednesday and on the way back I was stuck in traffic . I left newport high street at 11 50am and got home in yarmouth at 1 15pm. Yesterday my fuel light came on in the car with the message low fuel but I was nearly home from tescos so decided I would go out the next day to get fuel. I managed to go to freshwater garage today and filled up the tank. It is a bit pricey but what you save going into Newport you probably use that in fuel getting there and the staff at the garage are really friendly and welcoming.
I am having the rest of the day in chilling and trying to cool myself down. I will avoid going to Newport until after the festival. |

| Kitty not wanting to go to the vet |
| Well I tried to put my cat flossy in her posh orange and black rac pet carrier as she had an appointment to see the nurse at the vets in ryde for her claws to be trimmed. The poor thing wasn't having any of it she decided yo run and hide behind the settee making it harder for me to catch her. It was an afternoon appointment so I had yo cancel that one and have booked an early morning one for next Thursday, I am hoping I will be able to put her in the carrier easily as she is usually not so fast first thing. She meows all the way to the vets once they have done what needs doing she goes in the carrier without a fuss to come home and meows all the way home in the car. Surely my driving isn't that bad. I will never understand what goes through the mind of a cat. |

| Car sorted |
| It's been a long day.took the car in ds diagnosed it and it was a fault with all handle via the bsi.they recommended replacement of all handles which they covered the cost of £2048.68. The handles are working perfectly now and I am glad it didn't cost me a penny. I got back home at 11 30pm and it really has been a long day. |

| Lovely day again |
| It looks like another lovely day again today even the nights are too warm. Hope the weather stays warm. I am off to birmingham on Tuesday 11th june 2024 to get my car sorted out as there is no ds dealership on the isle of wight and they are the only ones who can diagnose it. Hopefully it will be fixed and I won't have to return for another visit if they don't have the parts. I shall be on the 6 30am ferry and returning on the 10pm ferry. It will be nice to see Birmingham again as it has been 5 years since I last went to birmingham. Will get some shopping and a meal whilst I am waiting for my car to be sorted. I have been told I should get the car back by 5pm. |

| June already |
| It is 1st June today and time has flown by, its only 207 days before Christmas. Do you have any plans for Christmas yet I know its a long way away but it will soon be here. This year I intend to go mad with decorations like I used to a few years ago. Though Christmas is really for kids the magic goes out of Christmas once the kids stop believing in santa. Maybe santa will bring me something this year as I have been a very good girl. |

| Cam belt all changed |
I got my car back today after a change of cambelt. I did enjoy driving the loan car which was a citroen c5 aircross hybrid. It was so quiet have never driven a hybrid. Been a quiet day today decided yo do some online grocery shopping from Iceland and had it delivered at 3 30pm today. Shopping for one is so hard as never know what to get
Been catching up watching last of the summer wine on drama channel, it really is funny especially the ladies on their coffee morning,they never have a good word to say about their husbands and men. |

| Car in for cambelt |
| I booked my car in for a cambelt change on Friday and it is booked in for today at citroen dealership. Though the cambelt isn't really due until June 2025 I would like to keep on top of things and get it changed. I have a loan car at the moment and I have been given a citroen c5 aircross hybrid. It is a really lovely car and a pleasure to drive. Then again I have always loved the citroen range, when I do change my car again I will definantly be looking at the citroen c5 aircross. Wonder if they will swap it with my ds3, I can only dream can't I. I should get my car back tommorrow. |

| Dentist |
| I have been to the dentist today,as usual he was running late. It was painful as I thought it would be when he pulled the tooth out. The only discomfort I had was when he injected the anaesthetic to make it go numb. Didn't like that at all. Drove hone afterwards and there was so much traffic along Fairlee road going into the town centre. Glad had the tooth out feel so much better. |

| Hair dye day |
I am off to the hairdressers tommorrow morning to have my hair done again. Really looking forward to it,will be nice to get pampered hopefully I will be able to park closer to the hairdressers though I could do with the exercise and don't mind parking a bit away and then walk to the hairdressers. My roots need touching up as my hair tends to grow quite quickly. Off to the dreaded dentist on Saturday to have one of my back tooth pulled out so not looking forward to that. I was at the dentist Saturday just gone as had lost a fillingband he gave me some antibiotics to clear up the infection before the tooth is taken out. The good thing about going to the dentist will be that I can go and do my shopping at my favourite supermarket waitrose so will be a treat well worth the visit to east cowes.

| Clearout day today |
| Well I had a storage unit in yarmouth isle of wight when I downsized to 2 bedrooms from a 4 bedroom property and didn't have the space to store everything in my flat. So I took on a storage container 4 years ago. It was handy to have stuff in there as the years went in I couldn't even remember what was stored so I made the decision to go to the unit and depending on what there was I would contact a man and van service to put everything in the van and take it down to the tip. I went over last night and sorted everything out I decided to bring back my life-size father Christmas a few christmas decorations a christmas tree sewing machine glass side table posh cat bed cat tree and a wall clock. The rest of the stuff was bagged up and there were some boxes. The guy with the van turned up today loaded his van and took the stuff away to be dumped at the tip. I have now given up the storage unit. So no more wondering what there is stored. I guess when you haven't unpacked and haven't needed anything you won't be needing it again so best to dump it all. |

| Car update |
| Looks like my car door handles have a mind of their own. It is a common fault on these cars. The handles all comenius when the car is unlocked and go back in when the car is locked that includes when the car is moving. My rear door handles won't pop out at all when I unlock the car unless I touch them and they pop out then they won't go in when I lock the car so I have to push them back in. The front handles sometimes come out and go back in. I took the car to peugeot and they said there was no fault but it would be better to take it to a ds dealer. Unfortunately there are no ds dealers on the isle of wight. I spoke to ds customer services who were not much help so I put in a complaint and they rung me to say that I should take the car to a ds dealership who would diagnose the car and let them know and they will then pay for repair or replacement once it is diagnosed. Unfortunately the nearest one to me is either Crawley weston supermare and further afield is birmingham. So after a few phone calls birmingham was the earliest I could book it in for the 11th June. So it's a daytrip for me to birmingham that should be interesting as I haven't been to birmingham in 5 years. With a bit of luck the car will be fixed as the cost to replace door handles is £500 supply and fit per handle. So glad I have a warranty with the car., just in case ds don't pay for the repair. I shall be getting an early morning ferry to get to birmingham and getting the late night ferry back. |
