SEX IMPROVES MENTAL HEALTH
So I am all for positive life changes, especially when sex is involved.....

sex is one of the most satisfying, intimate experiences you can have with someone else. And recent research has given us yet another incredible reason to enjoy it.

Everyone knows that sex can improve your physical health. However, did you know sex can be extremely beneficial to your mental and emotional health?
Check out the ways sex can improve your inner self.

Lowers Stress – From our social, work and family lives, life is filled with stress, and sadly, no one is immune to it. While you can’t stop it, there are ways to lessen its effects. Sex stimulates the production of happy hormones – endorphins and oxytocin – which reduce your cortisol levels and lower your blood pressure.
Research has also shown that sex can reduce future stress responses. So the next time you feel overwhelmed, some intimate time may be in order.

Increases Self-Esteem – Various studies have positively linked sex and intimacy to self-esteem. The theory is: as sex is a healthy part of socio-emotional functioning, your self-worth and identity are directly connected to whether we are engaging in intimate moments on a regular basis. These feelings go beyond base physical need – there’s a lot of societal pressure regarding whether or not you are sexually active.

Fights Off Depression – The hormones released during sex do more than reduce stress. Compounds such as dopamine and oxytocin promote positive feelings and general relaxation. Add this to the emotional closeness and bonding which takes place during sex, and you have the optimum depression fighter. If you are depressed, ensure you seek professional help. Sex is great, but it’s no substitute for a holistic approach for your overall health. Unfortunately, even a mind-blowing night of sex will not erase a depression diagnosis.

Helps Boost Intimacy – While sex and intimacy are not interchangeable terms, sex can be a useful tool to help build intimacy. When oxytocin is released, it creates feelings of connectedness and trust between people. The chief benefit of this is that generally speaking, the greater the intimacy, the better the sex. Of course, sex is not the only path to intimacy – however it certainly is a fun way to cultivate it!
If you are not in a committed relationship, regular sex can be difficult to achieve. There are many reasons for this. You may be too busy or just not ready to commit to something that serious right now.

I HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE
So I have been reading a lot of articles the past few days about how many Aussie guys are to stressed for sex.........

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS - Possibly the worse news I have heard for a while....

So in sheer desperation and with some hope I have based this blog on how to avoid being stressed - therefore being more SEXUALLY ACTIVE which will make me a very happy sexy naughty content fulfilled English lady.
1. Don’t drink to numb your stress
Dr Logan Levkoff

“We know that men have difficulty getting an erection when they drink too much… As it turns out, alcohol can dull sex, making it less pleasurable. Alcohol dehydrates [women, too], making lubrication challenging. Without lubrication, sex is painful. Without lubrication and sufficient arousal, we can kiss the idea of orgasm (or pleasure in general) goodbye. After a number of pleasure-less or mildly painful sexual experiences, we are not going to want it.

“Exercise, relax, take a bath, drink one glass of wine (not four), masturbate (yes, I said masturbate), make out with your partner and delegate some responsibilities to others. It will make 2013 a lot less stressful. And hopefully, a lot more enjoyable.”

2. Sex first. Libido later
Dr Laurie B. Mintz

“This advice goes against everything we are taught. We are taught that the sexual response cycle is linear, starting with sexual desire… If you wait until you feel horny to have sex, you may never have sex again! So, don’t wait to feel horny to engage in a sexual encounter. Instead, put it on your schedule and allow the sexual encounter itself to get you horny.”

“You can get your mind and body ready for this tryst [sex], and increase its chances of being fabulously enjoyable, in a variety of ways including: think of sex during the day leading up to the tryst – in other words, fantasize; make sure there are few distractions during tryst time; schedule your tryst at a time you aren’t likely to be exhausted. For many [people], night time isn’t the right time.”

3. Care for your body and relationship
Dr Logan Levkoff

“If we feel sluggish or if we gain weight (unintentionally), it can make us feel badly about our physiques. If we don't like our bodies, it is pretty difficult to find the desire to shed your clothes and jump into bed with your partner.

“Lower self-image equals less sex and less sex creates relationship problems. Ideally, our relationship should enhance who we are, not make us feel more stressed. And one of the biggest stressors we can have is our relationship, if we don't take the time to nurture it.”
