Martinis with Mae West...

Feeling the caress of silk and the sensual whisper of the night air upon my skin I gazed out upon the lake twinkling under the moonlight.

Running Errands With A Hidden Secret....

Phew...well that was a deliciously thrilling start to the morning...

Last night I opened one of my velvet lined toy boxes to discover a beautiful set of steel orgasm balls I had not touched in at least a year. Happy Lupercalia!

Have you ever wondered about the ancient origins of Valentines day? It maybe won't surprise you that those hedonistic Romans seem to be the source of our modern day nod to all things romantic.

From Feb. 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain. And why the hell not?

The Roman romantics were very drunk and very naked. Perhaps unsurprisingly, young women would actually line up for the men to hit them. They believed this would make them fertile. Or perhaps they were merely getting giddy and wet at the very thought of being whipped again...?

This hedonistic fete culminated in a matchmaking lottery, in which young men drew the names of women from a jar. The couple would then be engaged in energetic copulation for the duration of the festival — or longer, if the match was right. According to ancient accounts it would seem that this lascivious pairing set the tone for the rest of the festival which became a joyful bacchanalian orgy.

These lust fuelled ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men — both named Valentine — on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine's Day.
